The wonderful madness of sustainability week has come and gone. In case you missed it, I shall give you an overview, particularly about the composting CI involvement. Each day there was a different event meant to educate and inspire discussion around campus about what it means to be environmentally friendly. The composting crew attended the green expo in Clemson House on Thursday to participate in a ‘teach in’. Creative inquiry groups that have green initiative in mind were invited to talk about current and upcoming projects to make Clemson’s campus easier on the environment. we heard from a wide variety of groups ranging from solar panels, to biking and all were awesome. It was great to see people that are so involved and truly driven in the goal to be more ecofriendly. Ryan gave a spiel about what composting’s goal is and got some good discussion going about how to improve as well as the cool by products of composting such as biodiesel and nutrient rich compost for the botanical gardens and the organic farm. Overall, it was a success. Looking forward to EARTH DAY!!!!!!
