At our meeting last Monday, each member of our team gave an update on his or her project! Sam had scheduled a meeting concerning the video that she is producing for orientation! Ashley has started looking into potential plants that we can use to surround our new runoff pond that is part of the new site development plan! David has decided that he will start building his vermicomposting experiment next week! While Alex has scheduled a meeting with Dining Services that will hopefully get him approval to continue the dining hall study that was conducted last semester!
With Alex’s dining hall study, he plans to research the amount of food waste the customer produces when compared to the kitchen staff. This research will be one of the first studies conducted to find out how much the percent of the total food wasted produced comes from the customer when compared to the kitchen staff. There has been no research already conducted that he could find to compare his research findings to, so this research will be the first study of its kind conducted!
